In order to provide the highest quality therapy, I measure each session how much clients are improving, and their sense of teamwork with me. This approach is called Feedback Improved Therapy, and 3 research studies show that it doubles the effectiveness of therapy. For example, it doubles the likelihood that a couple will hold their marriage together. Also, clients show twice as much improvement with FIT, compared to when a therapist just asks how they are doing. I work with adults, and specialize in working with clients from a Christian perspective. As a psychologist, I work continuously with people with diverse philosophical, sexual, and religious orientations and backgrounds In addition to my work in treating the different causes and aspects of stress and anxiety, I also do psychological assessments. I have conducted numerous risk assessments for Crown, defense, and the National Parole Board for risk of sexual and violent recidivism.
Online Counselling
Technological progress has opened up a new approach to psychotherapy, which is online counselling. I use secure video-conferencing, as it is a far more realistic connection than phone, email, or chat. This powerful new tool saves you time and money, increases your confidentiality, and is more environmentally friendly than driving to an office
About
Dr. Eric Kuelker received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Manitoba, an APA/CPA accredited program. He is President of Mental Health Pros. Under his leadership, a team of graphic artists, social workers, writers, editors, computer programmers and others built the largest portal on the internet designed for clients of psychologists and counselors. It contains software to measure client outcomes, articles, assessments, videos, online journaling, teleconferences, and more. He is registered with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (#1296), with the Canadian Registry of Health Service Providers in Psychology, and is a member of the British Columbia Psychological Association. He has never had a restriction placed on his practice. He was chief psychologist at Mission Institution before entering private practice on a full-time basis. He has worked in hospital, prison, school, outpatient clinic, probation office, court, and university settings. He is happily married and now has three children.
